Florida Dirt Oval Series

2007 Rules & Regulations

Let us start off by reminding everyone that even though we are all competing against each other, we are all here to safely have fun first and foremost.

General Rules & Regulations

Race Hosts should make all persons aware of locations of fire extinguishers, First Aid kits and Emergency phone access.

For turn marshal safety all cars must have a front bumper that is made of a shock absorbing material e.g. nylon, delrin, plastic, kydex, etc. Front bumpers must be mounted in such a way that they will contact an object prior to another portion of the car in a front impact.

All bodies must resemble real full scale race cars running on dirt.

No silicone, silicone impregnated or rubber capped tires will be allowed.

Rough driving will get you a warning the 1st time, and a lap docked the 2nd.

Protests must be submitted in writing, include a $20 fee for each protested item. Protests regarding engines/motors may involve tear down if required or requested for inspection and the retail cost of items shall be provided by protestor. Teardowns will be done at the end of all racing. Engines and Motors will be marked for identification purposes at time of protest. All protested vehicles will be impounded immediately after their final race until inspection. Drivers failing to release vehicles for inspection will be disqualified. During qualifying, only racers in the same class may file protests. During Mains only racers in the same Main may file protests.

The final decision regarding rule enforcement is at the discretion of the race director. Good faith is expected of all parties involved to keep within the essence of the rules.

NO metal to be added to any bodies or wings or used as supports.

At no time is anyone permitted to cross the track during a race to fetch or return a car from the infield. If caught doing this you will not be scored for that race and 1 lap will be deducted from your best qualifier. IF YOUR CAR IS BROKEN OR DIED IN THE INFIELD, LEAVE IT THERE.

Transponders:
- What the computer prints out is what the results are.
- We the FDOS and Tracks are not responsible for your “Personal” Transponder failing to count.

Technical Inspection:
- Each event will have a pre Tech (cars will be teched before the racing day begins).
- In addition after every race you must drop your car off at the tech table before you go out to marshal if you fail to bring the car to the tech table your time for that Qualifier or Main will be disregarded and you will be disqualified for that race.
